2026 Summer Championship - Round 7: Race 1 - Short Course Truck
What a brilliant display of Short Course Truck racing we witnessed this evening at Sevenoaks Model Car Club! Alan Culham takes the win in an absolute nail-biter, ultimately crossing the line having completed 15 laps. He initially ran in second place for the opening two laps before making a crucial move on lap three to take the lead, a position he held for the remainder of the race. Tim Halstead, who started on pole, fought valiantly, leading the first two laps before settling into second. Despite setting the fastest lap of the entire race with a blistering 15.69 seconds, Tim couldn't quite reel Alan back in, finishing just 9.39 seconds behind after 14 laps.
The battle for the final podium spot was a real tussle. Toby Halstead, after starting fourth, moved up to third on lap two and held onto it, despite a late charge from Chris Luckett. Toby completed 14 laps to secure third place. Chris Luckett ran a consistent race in fourth but couldn't bridge the gap to Toby, finishing 19.55 seconds adrift after also completing 14 laps. Keith Griggs secured fifth place, the highest of the drivers who didn't complete the full 15 laps, finishing on 11 laps. The remaining drivers, Andrew Boakes and Tyrone Quinlivan, completed 8 and 7 laps respectively, with James Campbell unfortunately not recording a finishing lap. A fantastic effort from everyone on track tonight!
