What a race we've just witnessed here at the Sevenoaks Model Car Club for round 7 of the Summer Championship! It was a sensational finish to the Short Course Truck A-final, with Alan Culham taking the victory by a mere 3.59 seconds over Tim Halstead. Alan found his rhythm early, climbing from fourth on lap one to second by lap four, and then took the lead for the first time on lap six.
The lead was hotly contested throughout, with Toby Halstead and Alan Culham exchanging the top spot multiple times. Toby led from the off, but Alan made his move on lap six. Toby fought back to reclaim the lead on lap nine, only for Alan to retake it on lap ten. The final laps saw a real battle of attrition and pace. Toby managed to snatch the lead back on lap twelve, but Alan's consistency in the closing stages, including a critical lead change on lap fourteen, secured him the win.
Tim Halstead drove a strong race to finish a solid second, consistently running in the top three and finishing just behind Alan. Chris Luckett rounded out the podium in third. Toby Halstead, despite setting the fastest lap of the race with a blistering 15.32s, finished just outside the podium places in fourth, having completed one lap less than the leaders. Keith Griggs finished fifth, completing twelve laps.
