2026 Summer Championship - Round 8: Race 1 Short Course Truck Recap
What a display we saw tonight in Race 1 of the Short Course Truck class! James Campbell absolutely dominated, leading from the opening lap right through to the checkered flag. He put in a remarkable consistent run, setting the fastest lap of the race at a blistering 15.13 seconds and maintaining the lead throughout all 15 laps.
Behind James, the battle for the podium was intense. Tim Halstead fought hard, recovering from a brief drop to fifth on lap four to secure a solid second place, finishing 6.32 seconds behind Campbell. Alan Culham also had a strong drive, climbing two positions from his starting spot to take third. He was only 2.56 seconds behind Tim at the line, showing impressive pace in the closing stages. Chris Luckett, after running in the top three for much of the race, finished a respectable fourth, one lap down after completing 14 laps.
Toby Halstead also completed 14 laps, finishing fifth, just ahead of Keith Griggs and Andrew Boakes who completed 10 and 8 laps respectively. A fantastic race from all the drivers, showcasing the competitive spirit of the Sevenoaks Model Car Club!
