Well, what a race that was for the Touring Cars here at Sevenoaks Model Car Club! It was a nail-biting affair from the start, with a fantastic battle at the front between Ian Cowe and Tim Webb. Cowe took an early lead, but Webb snatched it away on lap 4. However, Cowe responded, reclaiming the lead on lap 6. The lead swapped again on lap 10, with Webb taking P1, only for Cowe to make another decisive move on lap 11 to take it back for good. Cowe ultimately crossed the line victorious, completing 17 laps in 248.24 seconds, a mere 2.21 seconds ahead of a determined Tim Webb.
Behind the leading pair, Ian Webb put in a strong drive to secure third place, recovering from an early position outside the top five. He finished with 16 laps to his name. Ian Foxwell and Martin Timms completed the top five, both finishing on 15 laps, with Foxwell just edging out Timms by 3.74 seconds. James Weaver completed 9 laps, finishing sixth.
A truly spirited performance from all our drivers tonight. Ian Cowe also claimed the fastest lap of the race with a blistering 13.77 seconds. What a fantastic display of RC racing!
