What a fantastic night of racing at Sevenoaks Model Car Club! In Race 3 of the Touring Car Championship, it was Ian Cowe who took a truly stunning victory. Cowe started the race in fifth place but steadily made his way through the field. By lap 11, he'd made the crucial move to take the lead from Tim Webb and held on resolutely, crossing the line 0.63 seconds ahead to secure his win. His fastest lap of 13.44 seconds also set the benchmark for the entire race.
Tim Webb put up a valiant fight for the lead, holding it for significant portions of the race after an early pass on lap 2 saw him take the lead from James Weaver. Webb retook the lead on lap 6 from Weaver, only to lose it to Cowe on lap 11. Despite finishing second, Webb’s consistent pace, with a mean lap time of 14.429 seconds, kept him in contention throughout. Ian Foxwell drove a solid race to finish third, completing 16 laps, albeit a lap down on the leaders.
Further down the order, Ian Webb finished fourth, also completing 16 laps. Martin Timms brought his car home in fifth, completing 14 laps, while James Weaver finished sixth having completed 12 laps. A brilliant display from all our drivers tonight!
