Tamiya Tourers Deliver Drama at Round 8!
What a race we've just witnessed in the Tamiya Tourers! Mark Shepherd has taken a hard-fought victory, but it certainly wasn't straightforward. The lead was contested early on; Tim Webb took the lead on lap two, only for Mark K Shepherd to snatch it back a lap later. It was on lap six that Mark Shepherd finally made his decisive move to take the lead for good, holding off the competition to cross the line first.
Tim Webb fought valiantly to stay with the leaders, finishing a strong second just 3.2 seconds behind Mark Shepherd. Mark K Shepherd, who set the fastest lap of the race with an incredible 14.11 seconds, ultimately finished third. Jimmy Zepp was a consistent presence throughout, running in fourth position for much of the race, and George Cordier showed flashes of pace before concluding his race on lap nine.
The battle for the lead was fierce, with position changes right up until lap six. Mark Shepherd's consistent pace in the latter half of the race, holding the lead from lap six onwards, proved to be the winning formula this evening at Sevenoaks Model Car Club. A fantastic display of driving from all involved!
