Race 1 - Short Course Truck Recap
What a finish we saw in the Short Course Truck race tonight at Sevenoaks Model Car Club! Chris Luckett was in control for almost the entire race, leading from lap one right through to lap fourteen. He held a consistent gap for much of the distance, looking set to take a comfortable victory. However, on the very final lap, Tim Halstead made his move, snatching the lead to take the win by just 1.12 seconds! Tim’s consistency, with only a slight wobble on lap 6, paid off in the end.
Alan Culham fought his way back into contention after dropping to fourth on lap 1. He spent much of the mid-race period running in second place, consistently closing the gap to Chris before ultimately finishing third. James Campbell set the fastest lap of the entire race with a blistering 14.300s on lap 13, but a few earlier laps outside the top three meant he couldn't quite make it to the podium, finishing fourth.
Toby Halstead battled hard and ran in fifth for much of the race, but unfortunately missed the final lap, finishing fifth. Keith Griggs and Andrew Boakes completed the field after completing fewer laps. A fantastic display of racing from everyone out there tonight!
